Animal Welfare Forum set for Aug. 12 in Hershey

Harrisburg, Pa. -- Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (VMA) and PennAg Industries Association will join to host the 3rd Annual Animal Welfare Forum on Thursday, August 12, at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey, Pa. The theme of the forum is "Working Together for Animal Welfare from Farm to Fork."  
This year's forum will feature keynote speaker Dr. Temple Grandin, nationally known animal welfare expert from Colorado State University. She teaches courses on livestock behavior and facility design and consults with the livestock industry on facility design, livestock handling and animal welfare. She has appeared on television shows including 20/20 and CNN Larry King Live and has been featured in People Magazine, the New York Times and Time Magazine.
Secretary Russell Redding will provide opening remarks while Christian Herr, executive vice-president of PennAg Industries Association, will serve as forum moderator.
