UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania Forage & Grassland Council (PFGC) will host a half-day forage meeting on June 25 at the Raystown Lake Resort and a full day tour on June 26 -- all in central Pennsylvania. The afternoon meeting on the 25th will feature such topics as mob grazing, plant growth’s effect on management, and weed management in hay and pasture fields.

The tour on the 26th will take a look at forage research at Penn State’s research facility and farms featuring mob grazing, manure digestion for energy, robotic milking and an ‘on-farm-camp’ for youth.

Bill Curran from Penn State will discuss how to manage weeds in pastures and hay fields.

Ray Smith from the University of Kentucky will discuss how differences in plant growth dictate how the plant should be managed.
