Business planning sessions offered

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture in partnership with the Sustainable Enterprise Accelerator of Slippery Rock University is hosting three Business Planning Breakout Sessions to help farmers and aspiring farmers develop their business plans. The hands-on workshops offered this spring will give participants coaching and hands-on activities that lead to the completion of a written plan for their farm. Participants may plan to attend one workshop of interest, or the full series. All workshops are held on Thursdays, from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the Sustainable Enterprise Accelerator located at 165 Elm Street, Slippery Rock.

The schedule:
• March 7, Session 1: Building mission statements, vision statements, and specific business objectives for your farm
• March 28, Session 2: Financial statements and ratios
• April 18, Session 3: Marketing strategies for your farm business plan / The executive summary

Participants can attend a single class ($10 for PASA members, $15 for nonmembers) or the entire series. All classes will be taught by Dr. John Golden of the Sustainable Enterprise Accelerator at Slippery Rock University.
