Workshop in Lebanon, March 19, 26 will outline required manure planning |
LEBANON, Pa. -- Every farm in Pennsylvania that produces or applies manure is required to have a written Manure Management Plan (MMP) under the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protections revised Manure Management Manual released in October 2011.
Agricultural operators are invited to attend this free workshop and learn the essential components of a MMP for their farm. The workshop will be hosted by the Lebanon County Conservation District.
An overview of the Manure Management Manual will be followed by planning sessions in which farmers will complete sections of their own MMP worksheets
The workshop will be conducted at the Lebanon Valley Agricultural Center. Two rounds of the same workshop will be offered: An afternoon session (1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.) on March 19th and a morning session (9:00 a.m. – noon) on March 26th.
