PITTSFELD, Pa. -- The 25th anniversary Warren County Holstein Sale was held here at the fairgrounds on August 18. The sale average for the 76 lots sold came to $1434.
Lot 23, Lawrence-Haven Aft Kris, due on September 12 to Guthrie, was the top seller at $2950. Sired by MS Atlees Sht Aftershock-ET and out of Lawrence-Haven MS Kat (VG-85), she was consigned by Paul Lawrence of Mercer. Ted Dechow of Little Valley, N.Y. was the buyer.
Two consignments each sold for $2750, the second-highest price of the day.
Lot 34, Miss Damion Dancer Danger, a fresh junior 2-year old Damion daughter, was consigned by Miller, Kafferlin and Mitchell of Spartansburg, Pa. She’s out of Miss Lyle Dasher Dancer (VG-86). Caleb Kafferlin of Spring Creek, Pa., paid $2750 for her.
Also selling for $2750 was Lot 52, Locust-Vale TNT Elegant-Red, a VG-85 daughter of Ladino Park Talent-Imp-ET. The dam is Locust-Vale Prime Elsie-Red (VG-87). Consigned by Jeff Winton of Greenfield, Indiiana, she was purchased by Miranda Nickerson of Corry, Pa.
Lot 37, Tycho Para Spring, a fresh junior 2 -year old daughter of Orthoapple Paradox Peter-ET, sold for $2700. She’s out of Tycho Kite Callie-Red and was consigned by Anthony Nicoletto of Grove, City, Pa. Her new owner is Milos Sinan of Home, Pa,
Lot 28, Luddy Luna-ET, just days away from freshening to the service of Sanchez, was sold for $2650. Sired by Erbacres Damion and out of Pinehurst Lira-ET (EX-91 2E), she became the property of Lonnie Peterson of Corry, Pa. The consignor was Timothy Ludwick of Sugar Grove, Pa.
The sale was co-managed by the Pennsylvania Holstein Association and the Warren County Holstein Club. The sale staff included C. Sherman Allen, auctioneer; Howard Hammond, pedigrees; David Lentz, Richard Harrington, Joe Nickerson, Dean Johnson and Ken Raney.
