Pennsylvania state Holstein show is Sept. 10

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania Holstein Fall Championship Show will be held on Tuesday, September 10, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Farm Show Building in Harrisburg. Steve Shaw from Williamsburg, Pa., will judge.

Along with recognizing class winners in both the open and youth shows, the 2013 All-Pennsylvania winners will be announced, based on placings from the Spring Show, regional shows and the Fall Show. Additionally, the 2013 Keystone Futurity winner will be selected. The animals eligible to show were entered as heifers with payments made as the animals matured; the class winner will receive almost $700 in prize money.

The Pennsylvania Holstein Fall Championship Show is part of the All-American Dairy Show which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. There are many special activities and programs that will occur during the All-American Show, which runs from September 7-12. “Plan to spend some time in Harrisburg and enjoy the fellowship that goes along with attending a major dairy event,” says PHA’s executive director Ken Raney.

All Holstein enthusiasts are invited to see the finest show cattle in Pennsylvania along with visiting the many activities of the All-American Dairy Show. “We hope everyone can join us on Tuesday, September 10, for the Pennsylvania Holstein Association Fall Championship Show,” Ken concluded.
