Benefit auction raised $15,560 for Juniors

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Dairy youths will benefit from $15,560 in scholarship money raised during the Youth Benefit Auction, held here on Sunday, Sept. 8 at the All-American Dairy Show.

The third annual auction, coordinated by George Cashell and his wife Denise, has helped raise more than $65,000 for youths attending the All-American Dairy Shows.

Attendees bid on unique dairy-themed items featuring the seven dairy breeds and the 50th Anniversary of the All-American Dairy Show. The items included artwork, crafts, farm equipment and trips.

Top items included: a Brown Swiss bell, a set of pack ends for show stalls, a wooden farm set, a handmade quilt with all seven dairy breeds, a stanchion light and a Bonnie Mohr painting.

The Pennsylvania Dairy Princess and Promotions Services raised $375 by auctioning baked goods.

Patti Hushon, Premier National Junior Events coordinator, presented George Cashell, coordinator of the auction, a hand painted butter churner for his dedication.
