Scholarship funded for the benefit
of All-American Dairy Show youths

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- All-American Dairy Show youth will have the opportunity to apply for a new $1000 scholarship in 2013. The Arthur W. Nesbitt All-American Dairy Foundation Award will recognize an individual who has exhibited cattle or participated in youth activities at the annual show.

The award is named for Arthur Nesbitt, the honorary chairman of the All-American Dairy Foundation. Nesbitt, an Enon Valley, Lawrence County native, now resides in Fort Atkinson, Wis.

“I’m pleased the board of trustees approved and funded this scholarship to support the dedicated youth of the show,” said the foundation’s executive director Robert Heilman. “Art has been a true leader in the agricultural field nationwide and an advocate of the All-American Dairy Show from its earliest days.”

Donna and Jason Myers of Westminster, Md., chairs of the foundation’s program development committee, developed the plan for the award.

Applicants for the scholarship must have participated in one or more activities at the All-American Dairy Show and must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certification program, regardless of type of major or program of interest, at a post-secondary educational institution.

“We look forward to seeing the caliber of applicants during this process,” said Donna Myers. “This award is a great way to recognize an outstanding youth and honor their commitment to the show and to the dairy industry.”
