Four Maryland Holstein scholarships offered
FREDERICK, Md. -- The Maryland Holstein Scholarship Committee announces scholarships available to Maryland Holstein youths for 2014. The scholarship program was started in 1973 and has grown in the number of awards given and monetary levels, due to the support and generosity of Maryland Holstein members and friends.
Four $750 scholarships will be offered to Maryland Holstein youth enrolled in or have been enrolled in a dairy project with Holstein cattle. Students may attend a two-year or four-year degree-granting institution in a college of agriculture or a four-year program in a non-agriculture area of study.
Applications can be found on the University of Maryland dairy Extension website. Applications must be typed in the space allotted using a 12-point font. An official academic transcript from all institutions attended, along with a recent wallet-size photo (head shot only), must accompany the application. All applications must be postmarked no later than Jan. 15, 2014.
The scholarships will be presented at the Maryland Holstein Convention hosted by Washington County in March 2014.
