GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The Adams County 4-H Dairy Judging team has had a very successful year. The team, consisting of Jocelyn Riser, Rachel Ulrich and Hannah Riser was named the overall high team at the 2013 Pennsylvania State 4-H Achievement Days in August. After that event, Adams County 4-H member Jocelyn Riser was invited to participate with the Pennsylvania State Dairy Judging Team during the 2013 World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis. The team finished second overall at the contest, just one point behind the 4-H team from Maryland.

This excellent result will send Jocelyn and the other members of the Pennsylvania team to Europe next year to take part in international dairy events.

Adams County 4-H members Rachel Ulrich and Hannah Riser were invited to represent Pennsylvania on the 4-H team for the North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) held earlier this month in Louisville, Ky.

At NAILE, the team placed first in Ayrshires, 4th in Holsteins, 5th in Jerseys, and 3rd team overall. Individually, Rachel Ulrich placed 6th in Guernseys, 6th in Holsteins, and 4th overall. The Penn State Extension 4-H team in Adams County thanks Zack Nell and Laura Elliot for coaching these excellent young people. Biggest congratulations go to Hannah, Rachel, and Jocelyn on their accomplishments this year.
