Donations needed for the auction
Harrisburg, Pa. -- Donations are requested for a live and silent auction, the proceeds of which will benefit the Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation of Pennsylvania, which supports youth education and scholarships.
The live auction will be held at the 2014 Pennsylvania Dairy Summit on Wednesday, February 12, as part of the evening dinner with motivational speaker Adam Taliaferro. Silent auction items will be on display throughout the two-day event, closing bids at 1:30 p.m. with winning bidders recognized at the closing session on Thursday, February 13.
“This auction is a great opportunity for individuals to get involved in supporting the Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation and its dairy youth initiatives,” said Emily Yeiser, dairy initiatives manager with the Center for Dairy Excellence. “Our goal is to raise enough money to support at least five $1000 scholarships in 2014.”
Those who are interested in contributing an item to the live or silent auction should contact Emily Yeiser at 717-346-0849 or email@example.com. All items must be received by January 31, 2014.
The Pennsylvania Dairy Summit is hosted annually by the Center for Dairy Excellence and the Professional Dairy Managers of Pennsylvania. Typically more than 500 people attended the summit, which is considered the premier dairy event in Pennsylvania. 2014 will be the second year the silent auction was held as part of the Summit. In 2013, the event raised more than $5000 for the Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation’s scholarship program.
Registration for the two-day Pennsylvania Dairy Summit is now open. The cost to register for the full program is $225 per person, discounted to $125 for dairy producers, managers and employees. Four program tracks are available, along with a hands-on demonstration area, offering participants tools and insight they can take back and directly apply on their dairy farm. Group discounts and one-day rates are available.
