Dairy nutrition conference set for Mid-Atlantic region

TIMONIUM, Md. -- The 12th annual Mid-Atlantic Nutrition Conference will be held here on March 26-27 at the North Baltimore Plaza Hotel. Lodging arrangements need to be made before February 28 to ensure the lowest rates.

The conference represents the formal collaboration between institutions and industries in Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware and New Jersey. The commitment is to provide up-to-date application science for the animal feeding industry.

Wednesday will begin with a general session including information on the Food Safety Modernization Act, Future of Feed Formulation, and Certification for Non-GMO Products. Following lunch, Lasaffre Feed Additives will sponsor a technical symposium with breakout sessions for each species focusing on gut health.

Thursday will offer concurrent sessions in Dairy, Equine and Poultry.

Dairy topics include: Influence of Genomic Selection on Future Increases in Milk Production, The Cow of the Future: Influences on Forage Quality and Production, Feed Intake, Management, and the Environment, Impact of Increasing Milk Production on Whole Farm Environmental Management: Life cycle Analysis, Dairy Cow of the Future Project, Panel Discussion: Dairy Management 10 Years in the Future, Heifer Management from Weaning to Breeding, and Heifer Management from Breeding to Transition.

Registration includes admission to all of the sessions, conference reception, the social hour on March 26th, a group luncheon on March 27th, and a paper and CD copy of the proceedings. A one-day registration option is available for March 27th.
