Protecting your profits call planned for April 23
HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The Center for Dairy Excellence will host the next “Protecting Your Profits” conference call on Wednesday, April 23, from 12 – 12:15 p.m. The call will provide a concise market update that includes a national and global snapshot of the dairy industry today including LGM-Dairy results and opportunities.
Alan Zepp, risk management program manager for the Center, who authors the Markets and Management Update, published in Farmshine, will host the call.
Milk production in Europe is well over last spring. New Zealand is moving into their fall season so production is dropping. California is still dry, while the Midwest and Northeast are beginning to green up. China’s economy is slowing down. Russia and the Ukraine are constantly in the news. This month Zepp will ask and answer, "Can I still protect profitable margins for next winter?" He will also speak to the basics of the Farm Bill Margin Protection Program, as well as other price risk management tools and how they fit into the Joe Dairyman’s marketing plan in this volatile environment.
Anyone can participate in the monthly conference call series. There is no charge to participate in the call, but pre-registration is required.
