Juniors invited to Penn State’s ‘Cow Camp’
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Dairy Science Club and Department of Animal Science will host the Penn State Dairy Days Cow Camp on May 16-17 here at the University Park campus. The event will include sessions on nutrition, reproduction, lactation and milk quality, dairy products, and calf management.
The camp will begin on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. and end at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday night. A variety of workshops will be designed for junior and senior age campers. Social events include an "ag olympics" and a picnic. The camp is open to youths from ages 8-17, but youth under age 12 must have a screened designated chaperone.
The registration fee is $40 per person and includes lodging in the Penn State dormitories on Friday evening and meals. Registrations should be received by May 3 if possible. Pleasecall Dale Olver or Chad Dechow at 814-865-7638 if you have questions about the camp.
